A viking aged wooden chest from pine with iron hinges. The surface is painted with tar, umbra and linen oil.

First layer I used a mixture of linseed oil and "umbra" (don't know if that's what it is in English) and after that I painted it with a thin layer of tar. Looks quite good and smells great ;)

On the inside there's nothing special really. The surface on the inside is quite plain since I haven't chiseled it as I have done on the outside, but finish is the same. I should maybe put a picture of the inside here as well.

i really like it... its simple but very beautiful. the aged look is perfect and also the rough look on the hinges... how big is it?

Thank you :) It's about 35cm long and 20cm wide... I think. I've given it to my girlfriend as a birthday present so I don't remember the exact measurements.
