Very impressive work!:XD:

Cool! is it just leather for the sole as well, I was wondering if that wouldn't wear too hard...

Thanks. Yes, the sole is leather as well. I don't think I'll use them so often that the sole would start to wear too much. But you can of course always glue rubber soles on the leathe to make it more durable. It's best not to walk on hard surfaces, such as asphalt or gravel.

Very cool. Is the pattern authentic? if so what time period? I am working on a viking age costume (Danidh circa 900-1000) and was just wondering. Did you work from a pattern? If so where did you find it?

Yes, the pattern is authentic. It's based on an archelogical find at Hedeby, Sweden, from the 10th century.
The pattern I got was from this book, Skoboken, by Stefan Eriksson, [link] It contains 10 different authentic models from the middle of 9th century to the early 15th century. It's in sadly only Swedish :/
